Justru, Pemerintah Indonesia sangat berharap agar kesepakatan win-win solution ini dapat segera dicapai dan benar-benar menguntungkan kedua belah pihak,” ujarnya meyakinkan. Perlu digarisbawahi, negosiasi tingkat tinggi seperti ini selalu diwarnai pasang surut sebelum akhirnya mencapai titik terang.
Lalu, apa sebenarnya isi kesepakatan “besar” ini? Ternyata, dalam kesepakatan yang diumumkan Juli lalu, Indonesia menyatakan kesanggupannya untuk menghapus tarif untuk lebih dari 99 persen produk asal AS serta menghapus seluruh hambatan nontarif bagi perusahaan Amerika. Sebagai imbalannya, AS bersedia menurunkan tarif impor produk Indonesia secara signifikan menjadi 19 persen. Momentum itu pun disambut hangat oleh Presiden AS Donald Trump yang kala itu menyebut kesepakatan tersebut sebagai “kemenangan besar bagi perusahaan otomotif, perusahaan teknologi, pekerja, petani, peternak, dan pelaku industri manufaktur kami.”
Kedepannya, Airlangga menyatakan bahwa pemerintah berharap perjanjian bersejarah tersebut dapat segera ditandatangani oleh Presiden Prabowo Subianto dan Presiden Donald Trump tahun depan. Data terbaru dari USTR sendiri menunjukkan defisit perdagangan barang AS dengan Indonesia mencapai 17,9 miliar dollar AS (sekitar Rp 299 triliun) pada 2024, di mana angka ini naik 5,4 persen dibanding tahun sebelumnya. Artinya, potensi kerja sama ini sangatlah besar untuk menciptakan keseimbangan perdagangan yang lebih adil.
