NUSANTARA, Desapenari.id – Kabupaten Kutai Kartanegara (Kukar) di Kalimantan Timur sedang mempersiapkan diri menjadi pusat pangan utama bagi Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN). Pemerintah setempat mengambil langkah strategis ini untuk memanfaatkan peluang besar dari keberadaan IKN. Mereka mengoptimalkan seluruh sektor pertanian, mulai dari tanaman pangan, hortikultura, perikanan, hingga peternakan, dengan target menjadi penyuplai terbesar kebutuhan pangan warga IKN.
Bupati Kukar, Edy Damansyah, dengan penuh semangat menyatakan bahwa daerahnya telah membuktikan diri sebagai lumbung pangan terpercaya untuk Kalimantan Timur. “Tahun 2024 lalu, petani kita berhasil memproduksi 106.553 ton gabah kering giling,” ujarnya dengan bangga. “Setelah sukses memenuhi kebutuhan Kaltim, sekarang kita menargetkan menjadi penyangga pangan utama IKN,” tambah Edy dalam konferensi pers, Minggu (10/8/2025).
Keberadaan IKN memacu Kukar melakukan transformasi ekonomi besar-besaran. Pemerintah kabupaten merancang strategi untuk beralih dari ketergantungan pada sumber daya tak terbarukan menuju sektor yang lebih berkelanjutan. “Kita fokus pada tiga bidang utama: pertanian modern, pariwisata unggulan, dan ekonomi kreatif,” papar Edy. Meski IKN akan menjadi kota berteknologi tinggi, Kukar justru memposisikan diri sebagai penyedia kebutuhan pokok dan destinasi wisata pendukung.
Tim pembangunan Kukar kini mempercepat penyiapan kawasan strategis di perbatasan IKN. Mereka membangun kawasan permukiman modern, mengembangkan lahan pertanian berteknologi tinggi, dan menyiapkan destinasi wisata terpadu. “Kita ingin warga Kukar menjadi aktor utama, bukan sekadar penonton dalam pembangunan ini,” tegas Edy.
Pemerintah tidak hanya membangun infrastruktur fisik. Mereka juga menyiapkan generasi unggul melalui berbagai program pelatihan dan pendidikan. “Kita melatih generasi muda tidak hanya pintar secara akademis, tapi juga memiliki karakter kuat dan keterampilan praktis,” jelas Edy. Program ini bertujuan memastikan pemuda Kukar bisa bersaing di era IKN.
Di bidang administrasi, pemerintah Kukar memastikan semua layanan publik berjalan optimal. “Semua sistem sudah kita siapkan untuk mendukung integrasi dengan IKN,” kata Edy. Langkah ini menunjukkan kesiapan berkolaborasi dengan IKN sekaligus menjamin manfaat pembangunan merata bagi seluruh warga.
