Oleh karena itu, kami harus memvalidasi semuanya mengingat aspek keselamatannya sangat membahayakan masyarakat,” jelas Agus saat acara sosialisasi Peraturan Menteri ESDM Nomor 14 Tahun 2025 tentang tata kelola sumur minyak masyarakat di Hotel Gumaya, Semarang, Rabu (17/9/2025).
Pada intinya, regulasi terbaru ini mengatur pengelolaan sumur rakyat melalui skema kerja sama yang jelas. Tujuannya tidak main-main, yaitu untuk meningkatkan produksi migas, menjaga kelestarian lingkungan, dan sekaligus memperbaiki tata kelola yang selama ini kerap abai terhadap standar keselamatan. Meskipun Permen ini membuka peluang partisipasi masyarakat sekitar, Agus dengan tegas menekankan bahwa bereksplorasi minyak memerlukan keahlian khusus dan standar keselamatan yang sangat tinggi.
