SIDOARJO, Desapenari.id – Sebuah peristiwa nahas dan mengerikan terjadi di perlintasan kereta api tanpa palang pintu di Desa Gelam, Kecamatan Candi, Sidoarjo, pada Jumat (13/2/2026) malam. Kecelakaan itu langsung menjadi buah bibir warga karena melibatkan Kereta Api Penataran dan sebuah mobil, yang berakhir dengan tragedi mengenaskan.
Lebih mengejutkannya lagi, insiden tragis ini merenggut nyawa pengemudi mobil yang tak lain adalah Kepala Dusun setempat, Heru Siswanto. Ia sempat dilarikan ke rumah sakit dalam kondisi kritis, namun nyawanya akhirnya tidak tertolong.
Kompol Septiawan Adi Prihantono, Kepala Polsek Candi, membuka tabir kejadian tersebut. Berdasarkan keterangannya, mobil bernomor polisi AG 1157 CW itu ternyata berhenti cukup lama di atas rel sebelum akhirnya kereta datang. Momen hening di atas rel itulah yang menjadi awal dari rangkaian musibah ini.
Saat kendaraan itu tiba-tiba mati di tengah rel, kepanikan pun mulai menyelimuti kabin mobil. Penumpang mobil, Bagus Budiman, sontak langsung gelagapan. Tanpa berpikir panjang, ia berteriak mengajak Heru untuk segera keluar dan menyelamatkan diri. Sadar akan bahaya maut yang begitu dekat, Bagus terus mendesak.
“Penumpang sudah mengajak keluar, tetapi pengemudi tetap berusaha menghidupkan kendaraannya,” ujar Adi kepada awak media, Sabtu (14/02/2026).
Namun, Heru rupanya masih bergeming. Ia memilih mati-matian mencoba menghidupkan lagi mesin mobilnya. Mungkin ia yakin mobilnya akan segera menyala dan ia bisa segera kabur. Sayang, waktu tidak berpihak padanya.
Di detik-detik yang menegangkan itu, situasi langsung berubah menjadi mengerikan. Dari kejauhan, suara klakson Kereta Api Penataran mulai terdengar makin dekat. Kereta dengan nomor lokomotif CC 2061346 itu melesat kencang dari arah utara, tepatnya dari Surabaya, menuju arah selatan, yaitu Malang. Tanpa bisa dihindari lagi, tabrakan pun tak terelakkan.
Dengan kecepatan tinggi, KA Penataran menghantam bagian kanan mobil dengan keras. Benturan dahsyat itu langsung membuat ringsek bodi mobil. Namun, kekuatan tabrakan tak berhenti di situ. Kereta raksasa itu terus melaju sambil menyeret mobil tersebut sejauh 100 meter! Bayangkan, sejauh lapangan sepak bola, mobil itu terseret bak mainan.
Akhirnya, setelah terseret cukup jauh, mobil tersebut terperosok dan terbalik ke dalam sungai yang berada tak jauh dari lokasi perlintasan. Proses evakuasi pun berlangsung dramatis, warga sekitar berhamburan ke lokasi untuk mencoba memberikan pertolongan.
“Karena jarak kereta sudah sangat dekat, tabrakan terjadi dan mobil terseret hingga masuk dan terbalik ke dalam sungai,” jelas Kompol Septiawan menambahkan.
Meskipun tim medis dan warga sigap mengevakuasi dan membawa Heru ke rumah sakit terdekat, namun luka yang dideritanya terlalu parah. Tim dokter sudah berusaha sekuat tenaga, tapi takdir berkata lain. Heru Siswanto, Kepala Dusun yang dikenal dekat dengan warganya itu, akhirnya mengembuskan napas terakhirnya.
Sementara itu, pihak PT Kereta Api Indonesia juga angkat bicara. Humas PT KAI Daop 8, Mahendro Trang Buwono, mengungkapkan rasa duka dan keprihatinan yang mendalam atas kejadian ini. Ia menyayangkan tragedi yang merenggut nyawa ini masih terus terjadi, khususnya di perlintasan liar yang tidak dijaga.
Menurutnya, kecelakaan seperti ini sebenarnya bisa dicegah jika pengguna jalan lebih waspada. Ia pun mengimbau kepada seluruh masyarakat untuk tidak lagi menyepelekan perlintasan kereta api.
“Kami berharap kepada seluruh pengguna jalan agar meningkatkan kewaspadaan saat melintasi perlintasan kereta api, agar kejadian serupa tidak terus berulang,” ujar Mahendro dengan nada prihatin.
Kecelakaan ini menjadi tamparan keras bagi semua pihak. Perlintasan tanpa palang pintu memang menjadi momok menakutkan. Pengguna jalan, khususnya pengendara, harus sadar bahwa kereta api tidak bisa berhenti mendadak. Semoga kejadian ini menjadi pelajaran berharga, meskipun harus dibayar dengan nyawa.
