Desapenari.id – Heboh! Unit Reskrim Polres Tarakan, Kalimantan Utara, akhirnya berhasil menggulung sebuah sindikat penggelapan mobil rental yang sudah bolak-balik kabupaten. Polisi dengan cekatan meringkus empat pelaku, yaitu RK dan FK yang berdomisili di Kota Tarakan, serta JR dan BL yang berasal dari Kabupaten Malinau. Yang bikin geram, Kapolres Tarakan AKBP Erwin S. Manik dengan tegas mengungkap fakta mengejutkan: salah satu pelakunya ternyata seorang Aparatur Sipil Negara (ASN) yang bekerja di salah satu kantor pemerintahan di Tarakan! “Kami pastikan, salah seorang pelaku penggelapan ini adalah ASN di salah satu dinas di Tarakan, yaitu FK. Sementara itu, RK adalah tenaga kontrak di dinas yang sama, dan dua pelaku lainnya merupakan warga sipil,” tegas Erwin dalam jumpa pers, Selasa (9/12/2025). Dengan demikian, kepercayaan publik terhadap integritas ASN kembali diuji oleh oknum yang tak bertanggung jawab ini.
Lantas, bagaimana sindikat ini bisa terbongkar? Semuanya berawal dari dua laporan pemilik rental yang resah karena mobilnya hilang tak kembali. Tanpa buang waktu, polisi langsung bergerak cepat dan berhasil mengamankan tiga unit mobil serta menciduk dua tersangka pertama, FK dan RK, di wilayah Tarakan. Namun, penyelidikan tidak berhenti di situ. Justru, dari penangkapan awal ini, polisi mendalami dan menemukan kenyataan yang lebih serius: mereka bukan penjahat biasa, melainkan bagian dari sindikat terorganisir yang rapi. Akibatnya, pengembangan kasus pun membawa tim polisi melintas ke Kabupaten Malinau, di mana dua pelaku lainnya, JR dan BL, akhirnya berhasil diamankan. “Awalnya hanya dua laporan, tapi setelah kami dalami, korban ternyata ada sembilan orang. Barang buktinya juga melonjak dari tiga mobil menjadi sebelas unit!” tambah Erwin. Jadi, modus operandi yang terlihat sederhana ternyata menyembunyikan jaringan kejahatan yang lebih luas.
Lebih jauh lagi, para pelaku dengan mudah mengakui bahwa aksi curang ini bukan kali pertama mereka lakukan. Hebatnya, sebagian besar mobil hasil curian sudah mereka pindah-tangankan hingga ke luar wilayah. Untuk mengungkap tuntas kasus ini, polisi dengan sigap menghubungi para korban via Call Center 110 Polri guna memverifikasi identitas dan dokumen kendaraan. “Selain 3 unit di Tarakan, kami amankan 6 unit di Malinau, 1 unit di Kecamatan Lumbis, dan 1 unit di Kecamatan Sebuku, Kabupaten Nunukan. Jadi, jaringan kejahatan mereka sudah menjalar ke 3 kabupaten/kota!” papar Erwin. Ternyata, mobil-mobil rental itu mereka gadikan dengan nilai yang bervariasi, mulai dari Rp35 juta sampai Rp52 juta, tergantung jenis kendaraannya. Ironisnya, uang hasil menggadaikan barang orang lain itu mereka habiskan untuk berfoya-foya dan liburan keluar kota! Sungguh, tindakan yang sangat tidak bertanggung jawab dan merugikan banyak pihak.
Karena perbuatannya, keempat tersangka kini terjerat Pasal 372 KUHP tentang Penggelapan, dengan subsider Pasal 378 KUHP tentang Penipuan, juncto Pasal 55 KUHP. Pasal-pasal ini mengancam mereka dengan hukuman penjara maksimal empat tahun. Di sisi lain, menunjukkan kepeduliannya, Polres Tarakan memberikan kemudahan bagi para korban untuk mengambil kembali kendaraan mereka tanpa dikenakan biaya, dengan status tetap sebagai barang bukti titip rawat. “Kami kabulkan permohonan pinjam pakai untuk 11 mobil yang menjadi barang bukti. Kami paham, para korban sangat bergantung pada kendaraan tersebut untuk mata pencaharian,” ujar Erwin. Langkah ini jelas meringankan beban korban yang selama ini menggantungkan hidup pada usaha rental mereka.
Sebagai penutup, Kapolres Erwin dengan lugas mengimbau para pemilik usaha rental mobil agar selalu meningkatkan kewaspadaan dalam melayani penyewaan. “Pilihlah klien dengan lebih selektif dan pastikan semua prosedur administratif dipatuhi,” pesannya. Selain itu, jika mengalami kejadian serupa, masyarakat diminta untuk segera melapor melalui Call Center Polri 110 atau layanan hotline WhatsApp yang disediakan. Dengan demikian, kolaborasi antara masyarakat dan aparat sangat penting untuk memutus mata rantai kejahatan serupa di masa depan. Ingat, kejahatan terorganisir seperti ini bisa dicegah jika kita semua lebih teliti dan cepat mengambil tindakan!
