Repatriasi Sukses, Indonesia Kembalikan Empat Orangutan dari Thailand untuk Direhabilitasi

MEDAN, Desapenari.id – Dalam sebuah kemenangan besar bagi konservasi Indonesia, empat orangutan yang menjadi korban perdagangan ilegal akhirnya berhasil dipulangkan dari Thailand! Saat ini, keempatnya telah menjalani proses rehabilitasi penuh harap di Kabupaten Langkat, Sumatera Utara, setelah melalui perjalanan panjang yang mengharukan.

Kepala Balai Besar Konservasi Sumber Daya Alam Sumatera Utara, Novita Kusuma Wardani, dengan penuh semangat memaparkan kronologi kepulangan mereka. Menurut Novita, awalnya, pihak berwenang Thailand merawat keempat primata malang tersebut di Khao Pratubchang Wildlife Rescue Centre, yang terletak di Provinsi Ratchaburi. Kemudian, pada hari Rabu yang penuh antisipasi (24/12/2025), akhirnya mereka diberangkatkan menggunakan pesawat dari Bandar Udara Internasional Soekarno-Hatta. Pesawat Garuda Indonesia Airlines dengan nomor penerbangan GA-182 dengan bangga mengantarkan mereka pulang.

“Setelah mendarat, perjalanan dilanjutkan secara darat,” jelas Novita dalam keterangan resminya yang diterima pada Sabtu (27/12/2025). Tim bergegas membawa mereka ke Pusat Rehabilitasi Sumatran Rescue Alliance (SRA) di Besitang, Langkat. “Tujuan utama kita jelas, yaitu untuk mempersiapkan mereka menjalani proses rehabilitasi secara intensif sebelum akhirnya kita bisa melepasliarkan mereka kembali ke habitat alamnya yang sebenarnya,” tegas Novita dengan penuh harap.

Lebih lanjut, Novita menyampaikan kabar menggembirakan mengenai kondisi fisik mereka. Tim klinik Sumatra Rescue Alliance telah melakukan pengecekan kesehatan menyeluruh terhadap para penyintas ini. Hasilnya sungguh membangkitkan optimisme: kondisi mereka dinyatakan sehat dan stabil! “Kita bisa melihat sendiri kesigapan mereka dari aktivitas satwa yang terpantau cukup aktif,” ujar Novita bersemangat. “Selanjutnya, tim kami akan segera memulai proses rehabilitasi komprehensif dan melakukan asesmen mendalam, baik dari sisi perilaku maupun kesehatan secara berkala,” tambahnya. Proses ini akan terus berlanjut sampai akhirnya para ahli menyatakan mereka benar-benar siap untuk kembali ke hutan. “Impian terbesar kita adalah melepasliarkan mereka ke habitat yang paling sesuai dengan jenis masing-masing,” harap Novita.

Kisah kepulangan ini bermula ketika pemerintah Thailand secara resmi mengembalikan empat orangutan Sumatera dan Tapanuli yang berharga ini kepada Indonesia melalui Kementerian Kehutanan (Kemenhut). Yang membuat momen ini semakin istimewa, Menteri Kehutanan, Raja Juli Antoni, dengan penuh komitmen menghadiri langsung proses repatriasi atau pemulangan keempat korban perdagangan ilegal ini. Sebelumnya, pada Selasa malam (23/12/2025), keempatnya telah tiba lebih dulu di Bandara Internasional Soekarno-Hatta, Banten, tepat pukul 19.00 WIB. Mereka tiba dengan selamat menggunakan pesawat Garuda Indonesia Airlines nomor penerbangan GA-867.

Raja Juli tidak menyembunyikan kebahagiaannya. “Ini adalah hari yang membahagiakan sekaligus membanggakan karena kita bisa menyaksikan langsung buah dari kerja keras antara kementerian/lembaga, bahkan kerja sama internasional, untuk merepatriasi empat individu orangutan sumatera dan tapanuli ini,” katanya dengan mata berbinar. “Pastinya, ini juga merupakan kebahagiaan baru bagi mereka berempat,” ujar Menhut dalam keterangannya yang dikutip pada Rabu (24/12/2025). Selama penerbangan, demi kenyamanan dan keamanan maksimal, orangutan-orangutan tersebut ditempatkan di kandang khusus yang telah memenuhi standar ketat International Air Transport Association (IATA). Selain itu, untuk memastikan kondisi mereka tetap prima, dokter hewan pendamping secara khusus ditugaskan menjaga kesehatan mereka sepanjang perjalanan.

Di balik sukacita ini, tersimpan kisah pilu yang membuat kita miris. Raja Juli mengungkapkan bahwa keempat satwa dilindungi yang masih sangat belia itu merupakan korban perdagangan ilegal yang berhasil digagalkan oleh otoritas Thailand dalam dua operasi terpisah, yaitu pada Januari 2025 dan Mei 2025. Menurutnya, upaya repatriasi ini merupakan bukti nyata keseriusan pemerintah dalam melindungi populasi orangutan yang kian terancam punah.

“Di balik rasa bahagia, saya secara personil justru merasa sangat sedih,” ungkap Raja Juli dengan nada prihatin. “Sebab, kejahatan jual beli satwa liar yang kejam ini ternyata masih saja terjadi dan merenggut masa kecil mereka.” Oleh karena itu, dia menekankan, “Kita semua perlu meningkatkan kerja sama antar-lembaga, institusi, dan kementerian untuk lebih serius lagi menjaga perbatasan negara. Dengan demikian, perdagangan ilegal yang merugikan ini bisa kita cegah sedini mungkin.”

Yang paling menyayat hati, usia keempat orangutan ini masih sangat belia. Mereka bahkan masih berusia di bawah satu bulan ketika Department of National Park, Wildlife and Plant Conservation (DNP) Thailand berhasil menyita mereka dari para pedagang ilegal. Selama proses hukum berjalan, akhirnya mereka mendapat perlindungan dan perawatan di Khao Pratubchang Wildlife Rescue Centre, Provinsi Ratchaburi, sebelum akhirnya diantarkan pulang ke tanah air.

Kini, perjalanan panjang menuju kebebasan mereka yang sesungguhnya telah dimulai.
