Acara sholat ghaib yang kemudian dilanjutkan dengan doa bersama untuk almarhum Affan tersebut dipimpin secara langsung oleh Ketua Badan Pelaksana Pengelola (BPP) MAS, KHM Sudjak. Melalui kegiatan ini, masyarakat tidak hanya berduka tetapi juga menunjukkan kekuatan persaudaraan (ukhuwah) yang nyata.
Selanjutnya, Humas BPP MAS, Helmy M Noor, menyampaikan pernyataan resmi. “Kami sengaja mengadakan shalat ghaib dan doa bersama ini sebagai bentuk ungkapan prihatin dan duka cita yang mendalam atas tragedi meninggalnya driver ojol, Affan Kurniawan,” jelas Helmy dengan nada penuh empati.
Helmy kemudian melanjutkan penjelasannya dengan menyoroti pentingnya nilai-nilai perdamaian. Ia menuturkan bahwa para tokoh bangsa ini sejak dulu telah mengajarkan pentingnya menyelesaikan masalah melalui dialog dan musyawarah untuk mencari solusi terbaik. Selain itu, ia juga menekankan bahwa para pemimpin di Jawa Timur selalu menganjurkan agar setiap aspirasi disampaikan dengan cara-cara yang damai, selalu menjaga kebersamaan, dan senantiasa mengedepankan semangat persaudaraan.
