Lebih mengejutkan lagi, bencana ini terjadi karena tanah yang menyangga JLS sepanjang lebih dari 70 meter tiba-tiba longsor dan menyeret kedua bangunan itu.
Selanjutnya, Camat Kalidawir, Rusdiyanto, mengonfirmasi bahwa peristiwa mengerikan ini terjadi pada Minggu (26/10) pagi. Menurutnya, longsor ini dipicu oleh hujan deras yang nyaris tak henti mengguyur wilayah tersebut selama sehari penuh. Oleh karena itu, untuk mengantisipasi bahaya yang lebih besar, tim gabungan yang melibatkan kecamatan, BPBD Tulungagung, Forkopimcam, dan Perhutani langsung diterjunkan untuk melakukan penanganan darurat di lokasi kejadian.

Jangan sampai karena ingin berfoto justru membahayakan diri sendiri,” tegas dia. Selanjutnya, pemerintah kecamatan masih akan berkoordinasi dengan Perhutani dan instansi terkait untuk menentukan langkah-langkah follow-up, termasuk kemungkinan melakukan relokasi bagi para pedagang yang terdampak.

Ia mengungkapkan bahwa sebenarnya tanah di sekitar tempat usahanya sudah menunjukkan tanda-tanda retak sejak Sabtu (24/10) sore. Berbekal kewaspadaan tersebut, akhirnya ia memutuskan untuk menutup warungnya dan mulai mengevakuasi sebagian barang-barang miliknya sebelum longsor besar benar-benar terjadi sekitar pukul 08.00 WIB. “Sudah terlihat retak-retak sejak kemarin (25/10) sore, tapi mulai parah pagi tadi. Sekitar jam delapan langsung ambrol semua. Bangunan dan perlengkapan baru ikut hilang ke bawah jurang,” keluh Supardi dengan nada sedih.
Sebagai akibat dari musibah ini, Supardi mengaku harus menanggung kerugian yang tidak sedikit, yakni mencapai Rp 250 juta. Kerugian ini terasa sangat menyakitkan karena ia baru saja menyelesaikan renovasi warungnya dua pekan sebelumnya, yang dilengkapi dengan fasilitas parkir, mushala, dan toilet untuk kenyamanan pengunjung.
Sementara itu, data dari Badan Meteorologi, Klimatologi, dan Geofisika (BMKG) Juanda memberikan konteks yang lebih luas. Hingga Minggu (26/10/2025) sore, para petugas masih tetap berjaga di lokasi untuk memastikan tidak ada pergerakan tanah susulan yang dapat membahayakan pengguna jalan maupun pemukiman warga di sekitar lereng.
