JAKARTA, desapenari.id – Dua anggota Organisasi Papua Merdeka (OPM) tewas setelah TNI melancarkan operasi penindakan di Distrik Tangma, Kabupaten Yahukimo, Papua Pegunungan. Insiden ini terjadi pada Senin (16/6/2025) dini hari, tepatnya sekitar pukul 00.15 WIT.
Mayjen Kristomei Sianturi, Kepala Pusat Penerangan TNI, menyatakan bahwa pihaknya langsung menggelar operasi setelah warga melaporkan keberadaan empat anggota OPM yang bersembunyi di sebuah honai di Kampung Ligima. “Kami segera bergerak setelah mendapat informasi valid dari masyarakat,” jelas Kristomei dalam keterangannya, Selasa (17/6/2025).
Kontak Tembak Singkat, Dua OPM Tewas
Saat upaya penangkapan dilakukan, terjadi kontak tembak singkat di KP. Aleleng. Dua anggota OPM tewas di tempat, sementara tidak ada korban dari pihak TNI. “Kami berhasil menetralisir dua orang, sedangkan dua lainnya melarikan diri,” tambah Kristomei.

Terkait Kelompok Egianus Kogoya
TNI mengidentifikasi kedua anggota OPM yang tewas sebagai bagian dari OPM Kodap III Ndugama pimpinan Egianus Kogoya. Kelompok ini sebelumnya aktif melakukan sejumlah aksi kekerasan, seperti menyerang pekerja pembangunan gereja di Wamena dan merusak hutan untuk membuka ladang ganja ilegal.
Kristomei menegaskan bahwa operasi ini dilaksanakan dengan prinsip terukur, profesional, dan proporsional. “Kami tidak gegabah. Semua langkah diambil berdasarkan prosedur dan intelijen yang akurat,” tegasnya.
Dari lokasi kejadian, TNI menyita sejumlah barang bukti, antara lain:
- 1 pucuk pistol revolver
- 1 pucuk pistol rakitan
- 5 butir amunisi kaliber 9 mm
- 1 unit handy talky (HT)
- 1 unit telepon genggam
- 1 teleskop optik
- 1 unit alat pengukur jarak Leica 1000 YDSAT

Kristomei kembali menyerukan kepada semua pihak yang masih membawa senjata untuk menghentikan kekerasan. “Kami mengajak mereka kembali ke pangkuan Ibu Pertiwi. Mari bersama-sama membangun Papua dalam bingkai NKRI,” ujarnya penuh harap.
Operasi ini tidak lepas dari rangkaian aksi OPM yang kerap mengganggu keamanan, seperti serangan terhadap warga sipil dan aktivitas ilegal. TNI berkomitmen untuk terus menjaga stabilitas keamanan di Papua.
TNI meminta masyarakat tidak terpancing isu provokatif dan tetap mendukung upaya pemerintah dalam menciptakan perdamaian. “Kami butuh dukungan semua pihak untuk memutus mata rantai kekerasan,” pungkas Kristomei.
Melalui operasi ini, TNI langsung menekan ancaman keamanan sekaligus menyampaikan pesan tegas: kami tidak akan mentolerir tindakan kekerasan!.
