Modus Operandi yang Licik
Bagaimana cara Jain menipu korbannya? Ternyata, ia piawai memanfaatkan kelengahan orang-orang dengan mengklaim dirinya mewakili negara mikro seperti Westarctica, Seborga, Paulovia, dan Ladonia. Polisi menemukan bukti mengerikan: uang tunai senilai 44,7 lakh Rupee (Rp 845 juta), empat mobil mewah, serta segudang dokumen palsu!
Tak hanya itu, STF juga menyita stempel palsu dari berbagai negara, dua kartu PAN fiktif, bahkan plat nomor diplomatik palsu. Yang lebih mencengangkan, Jain nekat memalsukan dokumen Kementerian Luar Negeri India (MEA) dan membuat kartu pers palsu untuk memperkuat kedoknya.

Sosok Jain ternyata sangat manipulatif. Ia memanipulasi korbannya dengan menunjukkan foto-fotonya sedang berjabat tangan dengan PM Modi dan mantan Presiden Abdul Kalam. Foto-foto ini sengaja ia gunakan sebagai alat pemeras dan penarik minat calon korban.
“Jain menjanjikan pekerjaan di luar negeri, lalu memaksa korban membuka rekening bank atau membeli properti,” ungkap Sushil Ghule, perwira STF Uttar Pradesh. Tak heran, korbannya kebanyakan pencari kerja yang putus asa dan perusahaan yang ingin ekspansi ke luar negeri.
Visa Palsu dan Bisnis Hawala Ilegal
Bukan cuma itu, Jain juga mengelabui korbannya dengan menawarkan visa ke negara-negara mikronya. Namun, polisi menduga ini hanya kedok untuk bisnis haramnya. “Kami yakin ia menjalankan jaringan hawala (transfer uang ilegal) lewat perusahaan cangkang,” tambah Ghule.
Negara Mikro: Benarkah Ada?
Lantas, di mana sebenarnya letak negara-negara mikro yang diakui Jain? Ternyata, negara-negara ini memang ada—meski hanya dianggap sebagai “negara fantasi” oleh dunia internasional.
- Westarctica: Klaim wilayah di Antarktika Barat, didirikan tahun 2001 oleh Travis McHenry.
