DEPOK, desapenari.id – Wali Kota Depok Supian Suri menegaskan, “Kami akan menerapkan program sekolah swasta gratis khusus untuk murid baru kelas 7 di tahun ajaran 2025/2026.” Ia menjelaskan lebih lanjut, “Kebijakan ini menjadi tahap awal sebelum kami memperluas ke jenjang berikutnya.
“Kita menyebutnya program rintisan, jadi untuk tahun ini hanya kelas 7 yang digratiskan,” ujar Supian saat dikonfirmasi, Rabu (25/6/2025). Ia menambahkan, program ini akan berlanjut secara bertahap dalam dua tahun ke depan, mencakup kelas 8 dan 9.
“Tahun depan, murid kelas 7 akan naik ke kelas 8, artinya kita bertanggung jawab membiayai kelas 7 dan 8. Tahun berikutnya, semua jenjang sudah gratis. Jadi, prosesnya dimulai sekarang,” jelasnya.

33 SMP Swasta Ikut Berpartisipasi
Mulai tahun ajaran baru ini, sebanyak 33 SMP swasta di Depok sepakat mendukung program sekolah gratis. Sekolah-sekolah tersebut tidak akan lagi membebankan biaya operasional kepada siswa.
Pemkot Depok akan memberikan subsidi sebesar Rp 3 juta per tahun untuk setiap siswa yang terdaftar. “Ke depannya, tidak ada lagi uang pembangunan atau biaya lainnya. Semua sepenuhnya ditanggung pemerintah,” tegas Supian.
Ia juga memastikan bahwa sekolah tidak diperbolehkan memungut biaya tambahan apa pun. “Kami tidak mengizinkan pemungutan di luar ketentuan. Semua harus transparan,” tandasnya.
MoU dengan Yayasan Sekolah Telah Ditandatangani
Kebijakan ini resmi berlaku setelah Wali Kota Depok dan perwakilan yayasan sekolah menandatangani nota kesepahaman (MoU) pada Selasa (24/6/2025). Supian menyatakan, kerja sama ini menjangkau seluruh kecamatan di Depok, meski belum merata di setiap kelurahan.
“Sekolah-sekolah ini sudah tersebar di 11 kecamatan, tapi belum semua kelurahan tercover. Ada kelurahan yang punya dua sekolah, sementara di kecamatan lain masih terbatas,” ungkapnya.
Dengan tambahan 33 sekolah swasta ini, total SMP gratis di Depok kini mencapai 67 sekolah—terdiri dari 34 negeri dan 33 swasta. Seluruh biaya pendidikan sepenuhnya ditanggung Pemkot Depok.
