JAKARTA, Desapenari.id – Yamaha terus berinovasi dengan mengembangkan mesin V4 untuk mengejar ketertinggalan dari rival-rivalnya. Tak cuma mesin yang berubah, hampir seluruh bagian motor ikut mengalami transformasi besar-besaran.
Dalam sesi tes privat di Sirkuit Brno, Republik Ceko, Yamaha menguji motor barunya dengan dua pembalap tes andalannya, Andrea Dovizioso dan Augusto Fernandez. Mereka juga ditemani oleh Alex Rins dan Miguel Oliveira, yang turut memberikan masukan berharga.
Tak hanya Yamaha, pabrikan lain seperti Honda juga hadir, meski Luca Marini absen karena cedera saat persiapan Suzuka 8 Hours. Menurut laporan Speedweek.com, Sabtu (5/7/2025), Yamaha V4 ini tidak hanya berbeda di sisi mesin, melainkan juga di fairing, swingarm, hingga desain knalpot yang lebih agresif.

Yamaha V4 Masih dalam Tahap Awal Pengembangan
Paolo Pavesio, Managing Director Yamaha Motor Racing, mengungkapkan bahwa proyek V4 masih dalam fase pengembangan dini. “Masih banyak yang harus disempurnakan, tetapi berdasarkan feedback pembalap, motor ini sudah menunjukkan progres sesuai harapan,” ujarnya sebelum tes di Brno.
Sampai sekarang, Yamaha belum merilis pernyataan resmi terkait hasil tes tersebut. Namun, yang justru menarik perhatian adalah pembaruan yang mereka lakukan pada M1 versi saat ini.
Alex Rins dan Miguel Oliveira sukses memecahkan rekor lap Marc Marquez di Brno pada 2016. Keduanya mencetak waktu 1 menit 52,7 detik, mengalahkan catatan Marquez yang hanya 1 menit 54,596 detik.
Namun, hasil ini belum tentu menjamin dominasi Yamaha di musim depan. Soalnya, Ducati—yang menjadi pesaing terberat—tidak ikut serta dalam tes privat ini, sehingga performa mereka masih menjadi misteri.
Selain mesin V4 yang lebih bertenaga, motor prototipe ini menawarkan paket aerodinamis baru, swingarm yang didesain ulang, serta konfigurasi knalpot yang lebih efisien. Perubahan ini menunjukkan betapa seriusnya Yamaha dalam mengejar ketertinggalan dari Ducati dan KTM.
Meski begitu, tim masih harus bekerja keras untuk menyempurnakan handling dan konsistensi motor. Dovizioso bahkan menyebut bahwa karakter V4 masih terlalu “liar” dan butuh penyesuaian lebih lanjut.
Sementara menunggu V4 siap berlaga, Yamaha memastikan M1 saat ini tetap kompetitif. Pembaruan elektronik dan setup baru berhasil membuat Rins dan Oliveira lebih nyaman menikung di trek teknis seperti Brno.
Namun, tantangan terbesar tetap datang dari rival-rival seperti Ducati, yang sudah jauh lebih matang dalam hal aerodinamika dan manajemen tenaga. Apalagi, Francesco Bagnaia dan Jorge Martin terus menunjukkan konsistensi tinggi di setiap balapan.
Alex Rins mengaku terkesan dengan akselerasi motor baru tersebut. “Daya responsif mesinnya sangat baik, tapi kami masih perlu adaptasi dengan karakter V4 yang lebih agresif,” ujarnya.
Sementara itu, Miguel Oliveira menambahkan, “Perubahan terbesar ada di grip belakang dan stability saat menikung. Jika Yamaha bisa menyempurnakannya, motor ini bisa sangat kompetitif.”
Tim akan menganalisis data dari tes Brno sebelum memutuskan jadwal pengembangan selanjutnya. Kemungkinan besar, mereka akan melakukan uji coba lagi di Sirkuit Jerez atau Misano untuk menguji konsistensi motor di berbagai tipe trek.
Yamaha juga dikabarkan akan mempertimbangkan untuk memakai mesin V4 secara resmi di MotoGP 2026 jika semua evaluasi berjalan sesuai rencana.
