MANDALIKA, desapenari.id – Tahun 2025 menjadi spesial bagi ajang balap Idemitsu bLU cRU Yamaha Sunday Race (YSR). Tak seperti tahun-tahun sebelumnya, Yamaha kini menghadirkan kelas baru yang siap memacu adrenalin: R3 Pro.
Johannes B.M.S., Assistant GM CS Division PT Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing (YIMM), menegaskan bahwa kehadiran kelas ini bukan sekadar variasi lomba. Melainkan, langkah nyata Yamaha dalam mencetak pebalap muda yang mampu bersaing di level Asia bahkan dunia.
“Kami sengaja mendukung kelas R3 karena di ajang internasional seperti Asia Road Racing, motor yang dipakai adalah R3. Kalau kita tidak adaptif, pebalap kita bagaimana bisa bersaing?” ujar Johannes di Sirkuit Mandalika, Lombok, Minggu (15/6/2025).
Ia menambahkan, alasan utama Yamaha membuka kelas R3 Pro adalah untuk menyelaraskan standar balap nasional dengan internasional. Sebab, ajang seperti Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) dan World Supersport 300 (WSSP300) sudah lama menggunakan basis Yamaha YZF-R3.

“Kami serius dengan kelas ini. Tujuan kami bukan hanya menciptakan juara nasional, tapi juga mempersiapkan pebalap yang bisa berlaga di luar negeri,” tegas Johannes.
Yamaha tak hanya sekadar membuka kelas baru. Mereka juga memberikan dukungan teknis kepada tim-tim yang turun di kelas R3 Pro YSR 2025. Mesin dan ECU (sistem kelistrikan) disediakan oleh Yamaha, sementara sasis dan komponen lain masih mengandalkan basis YZF-R25.
“Kami support mesin dan ECU-nya. Regulasinya pun mengikuti standar ARRC kelas AP250, di mana R3 sudah dipakai,” jelas Johannes.
Ia juga menyebut bahwa beberapa tim yang berlaga di YSR 2025 telah memiliki pengalaman di ajang Asia. Hal ini membuat kelas R3 Pro semakin kompetitif dan relevan bagi perkembangan balap Indonesia.
“Beberapa tim kita di Sunday Race ini sudah main di Asia. Kami ingin mereka tidak hanya jago di dalam negeri, tapi juga siap bersaing di level regional,” ucapnya.
Sinergi dengan Mandalika Racing Series (MRS)
Tak hanya YSR, Yamaha juga memastikan bahwa pebalap-pebalap R3 Pro akan diuji di ajang Mandalika Racing Series (MRS). Johannes mengungkapkan, MRS 2025 sudah membolehkan penggunaan R3, sehingga pebalap bisa lebih cepat beradaptasi.
“Minggu depan, tim-tim kita yang turun di YSR akan langsung uji nyali di MRS. Harapannya, mereka semakin matang sebelum bertanding di ajang Asia,” kata Johannes.
Ia optimistis, dengan adanya kelas R3 Pro, bakat-bakat muda Indonesia akan lebih mudah menembus kompetisi internasional. Saat ini, sudah tiga tim Yamaha yang aktif berlaga di Asia, dan Johannes berharap jumlahnya terus bertambah.
“Kami ingin tim-tim Yamaha lain juga bisa bersaing di Asia, bukan hanya Yamaha Racing Indonesia. Ini langkah awal untuk membangun ekosistem balap yang lebih kuat,” tutupnya.
