SUMENEP, Desapenari.id – Warga Sumenep, bersiaplah! Menjelang Idul Adha 2026, Dinas Ketahanan Pangan dan Pertanian (DKPP) Kabupaten Sumenep, Jawa Timur, langsung tancap gas dengan menerjunkan 47 tenaga kesehatan hewan (nakeswan) untuk memantau ketat kesehatan hewan kurban di lapak-lapak dadakan. Tim ini terdiri dari 20 tenaga medis hewan ahli dan 27 paramedis yang siap berjaga.
Lalu, kenapa pengawasan ini tiba-tiba diperketat? Sebab, sebelumnya tim DKPP menemukan tiga ekor kambing kurban yang terjangkit penyakit orf dan dijual bebas di lapak penjualan. Wah, tentu ini jadi alarm bahaya yang tidak bisa disepelekan!
Kepala DKPP Sumenep, Chainur Rasyid, dengan tegas menyatakan bahwa monitoring akan dilakukan lebih masif dan intensif hingga mendekati hari pelaksanaan Idul Adha. “Pengawasan akan kami tingkatkan terus sampai hari H, tujuannya jelas: memastikan setiap hewan yang dijual benar-benar sehat dan layak dijadikan hewan kurban,” ujar pria yang akrab disapa Inong itu di Sumenep, Rabu (21/5/2026).
Lebih lanjut, Inong menjelaskan bahwa petugas akan turun langsung ke setiap lapak penjualan untuk memeriksa kondisi ternak satu per satu. Mereka tidak hanya melihat sekilas, lho! Pemeriksaan meliputi kesehatan fisik hewan, tanda-tanda penyakit menular hingga kelayakan hewan untuk kurban sesuai syariat.
Selain itu, DKPP juga mengimbau para pedagang agar tidak nekat menjual ternak yang sakit atau bahkan hanya terindikasi terpapar penyakit menular. Apabila petugas menemukan hewan bermasalah, pedagang akan diminta segera memisahkan ternak tersebut agar virus tidak menyebar ke hewan lain di lapak yang sama.
Hingga saat ini, DKPP telah berhasil mendata sedikitnya delapan lapak penjualan hewan kurban di berbagai wilayah Sumenep. Namun, jumlah lapak diprediksi bakal terus bertambah seiring makin dekatnya hari raya Idul Adha. “Biasanya, makin mendekati Idul Adha, makin banyak bermunculan lapak dadakan,” tambahnya.
Menurut Inong, pengawasan ini dilakukan semata-mata untuk melindungi masyarakat. Tujuannya agar hewan kurban yang beredar di tengah masyarakat benar-benar aman, sehat, dan memenuhi semua syarat kesehatan.
Tak hanya melakukan pemeriksaan fisik, petugas juga aktif memberikan edukasi langsung kepada para pedagang dan calon pembeli. Mereka diajari cara mengenali ciri-ciri hewan kurban yang sehat.
Karena itu, masyarakat diminta lebih teliti sebelum memutuskan membeli hewan kurban. Jangan tergiur harga murah! Pastikan ternak tidak memiliki luka di sekitar mulut, kulit, atau menunjukkan gejala penyakit aneh lainnya.
Dengan penuh keyakinan, Inong menegaskan bahwa monitoring akan terus berlanjut, baik di wilayah daratan maupun kepulauan. Langkah ini diharapkan mampu mencegah peredaran hewan sakit yang bisa membahayakan masyarakat menjelang Idul Adha. Semua ini demi kurban yang berkualitas dan berkah!
