LUWU, Desapenari.id – Warga Pasar Tradisional Bua, Kecamatan Bua, Kabupaten Luwu, Sulawesi Selatan, justru dibuat resah dan cemas. Bagaimana tidak?, mereka menemukan limbah medis yang berserakan secara tidak wajar di area pasar pada Minggu (7/9/2025). Yang membuat bulu kudu berdiri, sampah medis berbahaya itu tercecer begitu saja di sekitar lingkungan pasar yang ramai. Padahal, faktanya, limbah medis jelas-jelas masuk dalam kategori Bahan Berbahaya dan Beracun (B3) yang sama sekali tidak boleh dibuang sembarangan, apalagi di ruang publik.
Dengan nada kesal, Jumardi, seorang warga, menyampaikan protesnya saat dikonfirmasi di lokasi kejadian. “Ini sangat berbahaya! Pertanyaannya, kenapa sampah medis yang seharusnya dikelola secara khusus malah bisa berakhir di pasar?” ujarnya. Tak hanya itu, ia melanjutkan, “Sebenarnya, kalau sampah ini hanya berasal dari para pedagang, mungkin tidak terlalu masalah. Akan tetapi, kenyataannya sampah ini datang dari warga luar. Di sini, kita bisa melihat langsung buktinya seperti sampah medis, popok, dan barang tidak sedap dipandang lainnya.”
Perlu kita pahami bersama, aturan sebenarnya sudah sangat jelas. Pada dasarnya, limbah medis wajib disimpan di tempat khusus yang aman. Selanjutnya, limbah tersebut harus dimusnahkan menggunakan incinerator atau dikelola melalui prosedur pengolahan B3 yang sangat ketat. Artinya, kejadian ini jelas melanggar semua protokol yang ada.
Merespon temuan mengerikan ini, Kepala Dinas Kesehatan Kabupaten Luwu, dr. Rosnawary, segera mengambil langkah cepat. Ia mengungkapkan bahwa pihaknya telah berkoordinasi dengan Kepala Puskesmas Bua. Lebih tegas lagi, ia menegaskan akan segera menurunkan tim kesehatan lingkungan (Kesling) untuk melakukan pengecekan langsung di lokasi. Menurut penjelasannya, “Memang, di Kecamatan Bua ini terdapat beberapa klinik dan praktik mandiri. Namun khusus untuk Puskesmas, mereka sudah memiliki tempat pembuangan sampah medis khusus yang pengangkutannya dilakukan oleh pihak ketiga. Oleh karena itu, kami akan turun mengecek hari ini bersama tim Kesling sekaligus memberikan pembinaan kepada klinik maupun tenaga kesehatan, terutama yang menjalankan praktik mandiri.”
Ia menambahkan bahwa pembinaan ini akan mereka prioritaskan untuk seluruh fasilitas kesehatan yang beroperasi di wilayah Bua, tanpa terkecuali, baik itu Puskesmas, klinik, maupun praktik mandiri.
Di sisi lain, Kepala Puskesmas Bua, Bambang, dengan yakin membela institusinya. Dia memastikan bahwa pengelolaan sampah medis di Puskesmas yang ia pimpin sudah sangat sesuai dengan aturan. Dengan penuh keyakinan, ia menjelaskan, “Prinsip kami, sampah B3 dan sampah lainnya kami pisahkan secara ketat. Selain itu, sudah ada pihak ketiga yang khusus menangani dan mereka memiliki jadwal tertentu untuk pengangkutannya. Jadi, mustahil sekali kami membuangnya sembarangan.”
Sampai detik ini, asal-usul limbah medis mengerikan yang ditemukan di pasar tersebut masih menjadi misteri besar. Pemerintah daerah pun berharap kasus ini dapat segera terungkap. Pertanyaan besarnya, apakah limbah ini berasal dari klinik nakal, praktik mandiri yang abai, atau justru dari pihak lain yang sama sekali tidak bertanggung jawab?
Ternyata, aksi protes warga ini bukannya tanpa alasan. Sebelumnya telah diberitakan, warga yang tinggal di kompleks Pasar Tradisional Kecamatan Bua melakukan aksi protes dengan cara yang ekstrem, yaitu menghamburkan sampah ke badan Jalan Trans Sulawesi pada hari yang sama. Mereka melakukan aksi tersebut sebagai bentuk kekecewaan yang sangat mendalam terhadap pemerintah daerah yang mereka nilai lamban dan tidak serius dalam menangani persoalan sampah yang sudah menumpuk di kawasan pasar.
Berdasarkan pantauan langsung di lokasi, tumpukan sampah berbagai jenis terlihat berserakan di sepanjang badan jalan, tepatnya di depan Pasar Bua. Dengan sengaja, warga membuang sampah ke jalan utama yang setiap harinya ramai dilalui oleh kendaraan antarwilayah.
Menurut penuturan Jumardi, salah seorang warga kompleks pasar tradisional Bua, mereka memiliki alasan kuat untuk memprotes dengan cara tersebut. Alasannya, sama sekali tidak ada penanganan serius dari Pemda Luwu. Dengan emosi tinggi, ia berkata, “Kenapa kami protes keras? Ibaratnya, tempat kami atau kampung kami di kompleks pasar ini sengaja dijadikan sebagai tempat pembuangan akhir sampah. Yang lebih parah, sampah yang ada di sini tidak semuanya berasal dari pedagang pasar, melainkan juga berasal dari warga yang ada di luar.”
