PERNAMBUCO, Desapenari.id — Presiden Brasil Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva melawan keras ancaman tarif impor 50% dari AS. Dengan tegas, dia menyatakan Brasil gak akan “berlutut” di hadapan pemerintahan Donald Trump, meski ancaman tarif bakal diberlakukan pekan depan.

“Presiden AS bohong kalau bilang Brasil mitra dagang buruk. Kami baik-baik saja, tapi gak akan nunduk ke AS!” tegas Lula dalam acara di Pernambuco, Kamis (14/8/2025). Pernyataan ini langsung memicu panas setelah Trump menyebut Brasil sebagai “mitra dagang mengerikan” dan menuduh persidangan Jair Bolsonaro sebagai “eksekusi politik”.

Mantan Presiden Bolsonaro sedang diadili atas tuduhan merencanakan kudeta militer untuk menggagalkan pelantikan Lula setelah kalah di Pilpres 2022. Trump, yang dikenal sebagai sekutu Bolsonaro, langsung gerak cepat. Pada Rabu (13/8/2025), dia menandatangani perintah eksekutif untuk mengenakan tarif baru.

Meski tenggat 1 Agustus udah lewat, dokumen itu menegaskan kebijakan bakal segera berlaku. Tapi, Lula gak gentar. Dalam wawancara eksklusif dengan The New York Times, dia dengan lantang menyatakan Brasil gak takut mengkritik Trump secara terbuka.

“Ngapain takut? Saya cuma khawatir karena kami punya kepentingan ekonomi dan politik. Tapi Brasil negosiasi sebagai negara merdeka, bukan kayak anak kecil lawan raksasa!” tegasnya.

Brasil Cari Solusi, Tapi Gak Mau Dikte AS

Lula menegaskan, pemerintahannya siap berunding dengan AS untuk cari win-win solution. Tapi, dia ngotot bahwa Brasil gak mau didikte.

“Dalam hubungan internasional, gak boleh satu pihak doang yang ngatur. Ini bukan soal berkoar-koar atau cuma bisa bilang ‘amin’ ke AS!” tegas Lula.

Namun, dia menegaskan bahwa nasib Bolsonaro bukan bahan tawar-menawar. “Brasil punya konstitusi, dan mantan presiden sedang diadili dengan hak pembelaan penuh,” ujarnya.

Lula Sentil Trump: “Jangan Jadikan Rakyat Korban Politik!”

Lula juga melayangkan pesan keras ke Gedung Putih. “Rakyat Brasil dan AS gak pantas jadi korban politik. Kalau tarif ini cuma karena kasus Bolsonaro, itu salah besar!”

Trump sendiri sering bandingkan kasus Bolsonaro dengan upaya hukum terhadap dirinya terkait pembatalan hasil Pilpres 2020. Bolsonaro memang bantah rencana kudeta, tapi dia mengaku cari “cara alternatif” untuk halangi Lula jadi presiden.

Meski Lula terlihat tenang, analis politik memprediksi Brasil bakal balas dendam jika tarif benar-benar diterapkan. Pemerintah Brasil kemungkinan besar akan melakukan beberapa aksi berikut:

  2. Perkuat kerja sama dagang dengan Tiongkok dan Uni Eropa.
