MARABAHAN, Desapenari.id – Duka melanda kalangan petambak di Barito Kuala! Bayangkan saja, sebanyak 77,2 ton ikan nila di keramba jaring apung Sungai Barito telah menjadi bangkai mengambang. Faktanya, kondisi tragis ini langsung menghantam perekonomian warga dengan keras karena total kerugian fantastis, yakni sekitar Rp 2,7 miliar, harus mereka tanggung.
Berdasarkan penghitungan sementara dari Dinas Ketahanan Pangan dan Perikanan (DPKP) Barito Kuala, tim investigasi berhasil mendata bangkai ikan hingga Selasa (27/1/2026). Selain itu, data kerusakan tersebut mereka kumpulkan dari dua lokasi terpisah, yaitu Kecamatan Marabahan dan Bakumpai. Yang bikin sakit hati, ikan-ikan yang mati itu sebenarnya sudah siap panen dan akan segera dijual!
Kepala DKPP Barito Kuala, Suwartono, dengan nada prihatin mengonfirmasi besarnya musibah ini. “Ikan nila yang mati adalah ikan yang akan segera dipanen dan siap dijual,” jelasnya. Sebagai informasi, harga ikan nila segar di pasaran saat ini mencapai Rp 35.000 per kilogram. Oleh karena itu, dengan total 77,2 ton ikan yang mati, angka kerugian Rp 2,7 miliar pun tak terelakkan.
Nah, untuk mencegah kerugian bertambah luas, DKPP Barito Kuala langsung mengambil langkah antisipasi. Mereka dengan sigap menyarankan para petambak yang masih memiliki ikan hidup untuk segera memasang alat peningkat kualitas air. “Kami sarankan kepada para petambak agar bisa memasang blower atau aerator guna meningkatkan oksigen di dalam keramba,” tegas Suwartono. Saran praktis ini diharapkan dapat menjadi pertolongan pertama yang efektif.
Selanjutnya, pihak berwenang pun bergerak cepat untuk mengusut akar masalahnya. Suwartono menambahkan bahwa penyebab utama kematian massal ini adalah penurunan kualitas air Sungai Barito yang drastis. Namun, misteri masih menyelimuti karena belum ada kepastian apa pemicu turunnya kualitas air tersebut.
Sebagai tindak lanjut, Dinas Lingkungan Hidup (DLH) Barito Kuala telah mengambil sampel air untuk diteliti lebih lanjut. Tak hanya itu, DKPP Barito Kuala juga telah menjalin koordinasi intensif dengan Dinas Kelautan dan Perikanan Kalsel, serta Balai Perikanan Budi Daya Air Tawar. “Saat ini masih ditelusuri oleh tim dari DLH,” papar Suwartono mengenai proses investigasi yang masih berlangsung.
Sebelumnya, gelombang kepanikan sudah melanda para petambak. Mereka melaporkan bahwa kematian ikan nila mulai terjadi sejak Sabtu (24/1/2026). Akibatnya, dengan berat hati, mereka terpaksa memanen ikan yang masih hidup secara prematur untuk dijual atau dibagikan ke warga sekitar. Keputusan darurat ini mereka ambil untuk menyelamatkan sisa aset yang ada.
Salah satu petambak, Yadi (Suryadi), mengungkapkan betapa terpukulnya dirinya. “Baru mau dipanen itu. Kami merasa terpukul karena kerugian kami cukup besar,” tuturnya pilu. Pada akhirnya, di tengah keputusasaan, Yadi dan petambak lain hanya bisa bersabar dan berusaha menyelamatkan apa yang tersisa. “Mau gimana lagi,” keluhnya. Sisa ikan di keramba pun terpaksa mereka panen lebih awal meski ukurannya belum ideal, sebuah langkah penyelamatan yang serba salah.
Lalu, apa sebenarnya yang mencekik Sungai Barito? Dugaan sementara mengarah pada penurunan drastis kadar oksigen terlarut (DO) di air, yang sering dipicu oleh pencemaran limbah, blooming alga, atau perubahan cuaca ekstrem. Aerator dan blower yang disarankan memang solusi darurat untuk menambah suplai oksigen, namun akar permasalahan lingkungan di hulu harus segera diatasi.
Ingat, ini bukan kali pertama! Kejadian serupa kerap berulang di berbagai daerah, yang menandakan lemahnya pengawasan lingkungan dan tata kelola perairan. Oleh karena itu, masyarakat menuntut transparansi hasil investigasi DLH. Mereka berharap agar tidak hanya sekadar laporan, tapi juga tindakan nyata dan penegakan hukum bagi pihak yang mencemari sungai kehidupan mereka.
Jadi, bagaimana nasib petambak ke depan? Selain bantuan darurat, mereka sangat membutuhkan pendampingan teknis dan akses kepada asuransi usaha perikanan agar tidak kembali terjebak dalam kerugian masif seperti ini. Musibah Rp 2,7 miliar ini harus menjadi alarm keras bagi semua pemangku kepentingan untuk bersama-sama menjaga kelestarian Sungai Barito. Bagaimanapun, sungai yang sehat adalah tulang punggung penghidupan ribuan keluarga di Kalimantan Selatan.
