Dalam pengundian yang digelar di Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Kamis lalu, Timnas Indonesia masuk ke Grup B bersama dua rival kuat: Arab Saudi (tuan rumah) dan Irak.
Dengan semangat membara, Erick langsung menyampaikan pesannya lewat unggahan Instagram resminya. “Timnas Indonesia tergabung di Grup B bersama Arab Saudi dan Irak pada Ronde Keempat Kualifikasi Piala Dunia 2026. Pertandingan akan berlangsung pada 8-14 Oktober 2025,” tulisnya. “Kita harus berjuang maksimal demi membawa Merah Putih terbang tinggi!”
Arab Saudi: Lawan yang Tak Asing Lagi
Tim Garuda sebenarnya sudah pernah berjibaku melawan Arab Saudi di putaran ketiga kualifikasi. Saat itu, di bawah asuhan Shin Tae-yong, Indonesia sempat ditahan imbang 1-1 di markas The Green Falcons, King Abdullah Sports City, Jeddah, pada September 2024.
