Sejak 10 Februari 2025, timnas putri senior mengonsentrasikan latihan di GOR Cahaya Lestari Surabaya, Jawa Timur. Mereka tidak hanya fokus pada satu turnamen, melainkan dua ajang bergengsi sekaligus: FIBA Women’s Asia Cup 2025 dan SEA Games 2025 Thailand.
“Semua berjalan sesuai rencana. Kondisi pemain sangat bagus, dan kami terus mematangkan permainan tim sambil meningkatkan akurasi tembakan,” ujar Asisten Pelatih Andrie Ekayana dalam rilis resmi, Selasa (24/6/2025).

Tak hanya berlatih, tim juga mengasah kemampuan melalui beberapa uji coba. Mereka sudah mengalahkan Timnas Singapura, menghadapi tim basket putra SMA di Jawa Timur, serta berhadapan dengan klub-klub basket Surabaya. “Masih ada dua uji coba lagi yang akan kami jalani,” tambah Andrie.
Debut Berat di Division A
Sekjen PP PERBASI Nirmala Dewi menegaskan bahwa persiapan ekstra sangat penting karena ini akan menjadi debut Indonesia di Division A. Mereka berhak promosi setelah menjuarai FIBA Women’s Asia Cup 2023 Division B di Bangkok, Thailand.

Grup A: Tantangan Berat Menanti
Timnas putri Indonesia tergabung di Grup A, di mana mereka harus berhadapan dengan China (tuan rumah), Korea Selatan, dan Selandia Baru. Sementara itu, Grup B diisi oleh Jepang, Australia, Filipina, dan Lebanon.
Jadwal pertandingan mereka adalah:
- 13 Juli 2025: Indonesia vs China
- 15 Juli 2025: Indonesia vs Selandia Baru
- 16 Juli 2025: Indonesia vs Korea Selatan
Turnamen ini menggunakan sistem kompetisi ketat. Juara grup langsung lolos ke semifinal, sementara peringkat 2 dan 3 harus bertarung lebih dulu. Tim yang kalah di semifinal akan berebut posisi 5-6, sedangkan peringkat 4 grup bertanding untuk menentukan posisi 7-8.
