Lumajang, Jawa Timur, desapenari.id – Gunung Semeru kembali menunjukkan aktivitas vulkaniknya. Pada Rabu (2/7), gunung yang terletak di perbatasan Kabupaten Lumajang dan Malang ini memuntahkan abu vulkanik setinggi 1.000 meter di atas puncaknya.
Letusan Teramati Sejak Pagi
Petugas Pos Pengamatan Gunung Semeru, Mukdas Sofian, melaporkan bahwa erupsi terjadi pukul 10.37 WIB. “Kolom abu terlihat mencapai ketinggian 1.000 meter dari puncak atau sekitar 4.676 meter di atas permukaan laut,” jelasnya dalam laporan tertulis. Abu tersebut berwarna putih hingga kelabu dengan kepadatan tinggi mengarah ke utara dan timur laut.
Seismograf mencatat getaran dengan amplitudo maksimum 22 mm dan durasi 234 detik. Menariknya, ini bukan letusan pertama hari ini. Sejak dini hari, Semeru sudah tujuh kali erupsi.

Rangkaian Erupsi Sejak Dini Hari
Pukul 00.21 WIB, gunung ini mulai bergejolak, meski visual letusannya tidak terlihat. Beberapa menit kemudian, tepatnya pukul 00.32 WIB, erupsi kedua terjadi. Erupsi ketiga menyusul pukul 00.54 WIB, dan keempat pada pukul 01.08 WIB—keduanya juga tidak teramati secara visual.
Memasuki pagi hari, aktivitas vulkanik semakin intens. Pukul 07.00 WIB, Semeru menyemburkan abu setinggi 700 meter. Hanya 55 menit kemudian, erupsi keenam terjadi dengan ketinggian yang sama. Puncaknya terjadi pukul 10.37 WIB, ketika kolom abu mencapai 1 kilometer di atas puncak.
Status Waspada, Masyarakat Diminta Waspada
Meski aktivitasnya meningkat, status Gunung Semeru masih di level Waspada. Pusat Vulkanologi dan Mitigasi Bencana Geologi (PVMBG) memberikan sejumlah imbauan penting:
- Larangan Beraktivitas di Zona Bahaya
Masyarakat dilarang mendekati area dalam radius 8 km dari puncak ke arah tenggara (sepanjang Besuk Kobokan). Di luar zona itu, warga juga diminta menjauhi tepian sungai dalam radius 500 meter karena berpotensi terdampak awan panas atau aliran lahar. - Waspada Lontaran Batu & Awan Panas
PVMBG mengingatkan agar tidak beraktivitas dalam radius 3 km dari kawah karena risiko lontaran batu pijar. Selain itu, masyarakat perlu mewaspadai ancaman awan panas, guguran lava, dan lahar hujan—terutama di aliran Besuk Kobokan, Besuk Bang, Besuk Kembar, dan Besuk Sat.
