Arab Saudi sebenarnya menambah 20.000 kuota haji untuk Indonesia. Kemenag mengklaim pembagian kuota itu 50:50 antara haji reguler dan khusus, atas perintah pemerintah Saudi. Namun, anggota Pansus Haji Marwan Jafar membantah klaim ini. Pada 24 September 2024, ia mengaku mendapat informasi bahwa Arab Saudi sama sekali tidak mengatur pembagian kuota seperti itu.

Yang lebih mengejutkan, ada dugaan 3.503 jemaah haji khusus berangkat tahun 2024 tanpa antre, padahal seharusnya baru berangkat tahun 2031. Ini jelas melanggar ketentuan antrean yang seharusnya berlaku adil bagi semua calon jemaah.
Tak hanya kuota, Pansus Haji juga menyoroti masalah katering. Marwan menilai dapur katering tidak memenuhi standar dan mencurigai adanya kesepakatan terselubung antara penyedia katering dan Kemenag. DPR bahkan menilai Kemenag lebih fokus pada keuntungan finansial ketimbang meningkatkan pelayanan jemaah.

Sejumlah pihak terkait sudah mulai dipanggil, meski KPK belum mau membocorkan detail lebih lanjut.
KPK mengambil alih kasus ini setelah menerima laporan dari masyarakat. Selain itu, temuan Pansus Haji DPR bisa menjadi acuan penting dalam penyelidikan. “Meski saya bukan anggota Pansus, dokumen publik seperti ini bisa jadi rujukan KPK,” jelas HNW di Kompleks Parlemen, Jakarta, Jumat (20/6/2025).
Mulai tahun depan, Badan Penyelenggara Ibadah Haji (BP Haji) akan mengambil alih penyelenggaraan ibadah haji. Kepala BP Haji, Mochammad Irfan Yusuf (Gus Irfan), menegaskan bahwa Presiden Prabowo Subianto memerintahkan mereka untuk mengelola haji secara transparan.
