KPK bergerak cepat dengan berkoordinasi bersama Polri, Kejaksaan Agung, dan Kementerian Hukum untuk melengkapi persyaratan ekstradisi. Lembaga tersebut berupaya membawa Paulus Tannos kembali ke Indonesia guna menjalani persidangan secepat mungkin.
Namun, hingga kini, KPK belum memberikan informasi rinci terkait waktu kepulangan Paulus Tannos. Jadwal penerbangannya menuju Indonesia masih belum ditentukan.
Kasus ini sebelumnya menemui kendala karena Paulus Tannos memiliki dua kewarganegaraan. Hal ini membuat penegak hukum mengalami kesulitan dalam proses penangkapan meskipun telah menemukan keberadaannya.
Pada Agustus 2023, Direktur Penyelidikan KomisiPK, Asep Guntur Rahayu, mengungkapkan bahwa pihaknya bersama Divisi Hubungan Internasional Polri pernah menemui Paulus Tannos. Namun, upaya penangkapan gagal dilakukan karena terbentur aturan hukum yang berlaku di negara tempat Tannos tinggal.
Keberhasilan ini menjadi langkah signifikan dalam upaya KomisiPK menuntaskan kasus e-KTP yang telah merugikan negara. KPK kini berfokus memastikan proses ekstradisi berjalan lancar agar terdakwa segera menghadapi proses hukum di Indonesia.
