Bekantan di Faunaland Ancol:
Tidak perlu jauh-jauh ke Kalimantan untuk melihat bekantan. Di Faunaland Ancol, pengunjung bisa menikmati pengalaman seru bertemu primata endemik Kalimantan ini. Bekantan (Nasalis larvatus) dikenal dengan hidung panjang dan unik serta kemampuan berenangnya yang luar biasa.
Keunikan Bekantan di Faunaland Ancol:
Bekantan memiliki warna bulu beragam, mulai dari coklat kemerahan hingga oranye. Ciri fisik yang paling mencolok adalah hidung panjang pada bekantan jantan. Di Faunaland, terdapat seekor bekantan jantan bernama Simon dengan hidung besar dan panjang. Sedangkan dua betina bernama Melani dan Stephani memiliki hidung yang lebih pendek.
“Hidung panjang pada bekantan jantan menjadi daya tarik bagi betina. Semakin besar dan panjang hidungnya, semakin menarik bagi betina,” ujar Febri, dokter hewan di Faunaland.
Selain itu, bekantan juga sangat terampil berenang. Mereka hidup di sekitar sungai dan hutan bakau. Bekantan memiliki selaput di sela-sela jari kakinya yang memudahkan mereka berenang. Pengunjung bisa melihat bagaimana bekantan bergelantungan di pohon dan sesekali berenang di kolam.
Upaya Konservasi di Faunaland:
Faunaland tidak hanya menghadirkan edukasi bagi pengunjung, tetapi juga berperan dalam konservasi bekantan. Tim Faunaland memantau dan menjaga perkembangbiakan bekantan menggunakan teknologi USG untuk memastikan kesehatan janin.
“Kami terus memantau perkembangan kehamilan bekantan. Biasanya, jika usia kehamilan sudah mencapai satu bulan, kemungkinan besar perkembangan janin berhasil. Kami melakukan USG secara rutin untuk memastikan kesehatan dan keselamatan janin bekantan betina,” jelas Febri.
Menurut data dari WWF.id, populasi bekantan di alam liar semakin berkurang akibat perburuan dan perdagangan ilegal. Beberapa orang percaya bahwa daging bekantan dapat menambah stamina, sementara yang lain memeliharanya sebagai hewan peliharaan. Oleh karena itu, upaya konservasi di Faunaland sangat penting untuk menjaga keberlangsungan hidup primata langka ini.
Lokasi dan Jam Operasional Faunaland Ancol:
Faunaland berlokasi di Ecovention Building – Ecopark, Jalan Lodan Raya, Pademangan, Ancol, Jakarta Utara. Pengunjung dapat dengan mudah mengakses lokasi Faunaland karena letaknya dekat dengan Stasiun KRL Ancol.
Faunaland Ancol membuka operasionalnya setiap hari mulai pukul 09.00 WIB hingga 16.30 WIB. Kami menyarankan pengunjung untuk datang di pagi hari agar dapat menikmati suasana yang lebih tenang dan melihat bekantan yang lebih aktif. Selain bekantan, pengunjung juga dapat melihat siamang putih di area pulau amang dan berkeliling menggunakan sampan di perairan Faunaland.
