Kepala Dinas Pariwisata Sleman, Ishadi Zayid, menjelaskan tingkat hunian hotel rata-rata hanya mencapai 60 persen. Menurutnya, kondisi ekonomi menjadi penyebab utama wisatawan enggan menginap di hotel.
“Okupansi hotel turun sekitar 10 persen dibanding tahun lalu. Banyak masyarakat memilih liburan tanpa menginap,” ujar Ishadi, Senin (7/4/2025).
Ia menambahkan, fenomena ini bisa terjadi karena daya beli masyarakat sedang menurun. Pemutusan hubungan kerja (PHK) dan ketidakstabilan ekonomi membuat wisatawan lebih hemat dalam merencanakan liburan.
Meski begitu, tingkat kunjungan wisata tetap tinggi. Ishadi menyebut destinasi di kawasan lereng Merapi seperti Kaliurang, Kaliadem, dan lava tour tetap menjadi favorit wisatawan.
“Per hari, Kaliadem dikunjungi sekitar 2.000 orang. Sementara Kaliurang menerima lebih dari 4.000 pengunjung,” jelasnya.
Destinasi seperti Candi Prambanan dan paket wisata jip di sekitar Merapi juga masih menjadi daya tarik utama. Peningkatan jumlah pengunjung mulai terlihat sejak H+2 Lebaran.
“Pada H+1, wisatawan masih fokus silaturahmi. Tapi mulai H+2, pergerakan pengunjung terlihat signifikan,” katanya.
Ishadi mengatakan bahwa meskipun tingkat hunian hotel menurun, jumlah wisatawan tahun ini hampir setara dengan tahun lalu. Ia berharap tren ini tetap berlanjut, terutama untuk mendukung sektor UMKM di sekitar destinasi wisata.

Dengan kunjungan yang tetap tinggi, Sleman masih memiliki potensi besar sebagai daerah wisata favorit. Namun, pelaku usaha perhotelan diharapkan bisa mencari strategi baru agar lebih menarik bagi wisatawan domestik yang ingin berhemat.
