SAMARINDA, Desapenari.id – Dentuman histeris memecah sunyi dini hari. Warga yang masih terlelap tiba-tiba dikejutkan oleh kepulan asap hitam pekat yang membumbung tinggi di kawasan Pasar Segiri. Kamis (26/3/2026) pukul 04.15 WITA, api dengan ganasnya melahap puluhan lapak, mengubah pusat ekonomi rakyat itu menjadi lautan pijar dalam hitungan menit. Desapenari.id melaporkan, sedikitnya 44 bangunan kini rata dengan tanah, menyisakan duka dan kerugian yang sangat besar bagi para pedagang.
Kepala Dinas Pemadam Kebakaran dan Penyelamatan Kota Samarinda, Hendra AH, langsung turun ke lokasi untuk memantau situasi. Dengan nada tegas, ia mengungkapkan bahwa api pertama kali muncul dari kawasan kios pasar. “Bukan cuma satu atau dua, tapi langsung sekitar 20 kios berbahan kayu yang terbakar. Apinya cepat sekali membesar, lalu dengan brutal menjalar ke 24 ruko beton permanen di sebelahnya,” ujarnya di tengah kepulan asap yang masih tersisa.
Ia pun menjelaskan faktor utama yang membuat tragedi ini begitu cepat membesar. Menurutnya, konstruksi bangunan-bangunan di pasar tersebut sangat rapat dan saling berdempetan. “Bayangkan, kayu dan beton itu berdekatan tanpa jarak aman. Akibatnya, api tinggal melompat dari satu titik ke titik lain tanpa bisa kita cegah di awal,” tambahnya, menggambarkan betapa sulitnya situasi yang dihadapi para petugas di lapangan.
Tak butuh waktu lama bagi tim pemadam untuk bergerak cepat. Begitu menerima laporan, puluhan unit armada langsung dikerahkan dari berbagai penjuru kota. Hendra memastikan bahwa mereka mengerahkan seluruh kemampuan dengan memobilisasi personel dari enam posko sekaligus. “Kami kumpulkan semua kekuatan. Tim gabungan kami turunkan dari enam posko berbeda hanya untuk mempercepat penanganan. Ini skala besar, kami tidak bisa main-main,” tegasnya.
Proses pengendalian api pun berlangsung dramatis. Selama hampir dua jam penuh, petugas berjibaku melawan bara yang terus menjalar. Namun, di tengah upaya maksimal tersebut, situasi di lapangan justru berubah kian krusial. Bukan hanya karena besarnya api, tapi juga karena kendala teknis yang tak terduga. Hendra mengungkapkan bahwa akses menuju titik api menjadi mimpi buruk bagi regu pemadam. “Jalur masuknya sempit, terlebih di dalam los atau petak-petak kios. Kondisi ini sangat menyulitkan pergerakan petugas dan relawan yang mencoba menerobos masuk,” jelasnya dengan nada frustrasi.
Lebih menyulitkan lagi, proses evakuasi dan pemadaman sempat terhambat oleh situasi sosial yang memanas. Di saat petugas kewalahan menghadapi api, kericuhan justru pecah di antara warga yang panik dan berdesakan. Mereka yang kehilangan mata pencaharian berusaha menyelamatkan barang dagangan, tanpa sadar justru menghalangi laju petugas. “Kami sangat menyayangkan adanya keributan di lapangan. Padahal saat itu kami sedang berusaha habis-habisan. Kami hanya berharap masyarakat bisa memberi kami ruang. Kalau akses petugas lancar, pasti penanganan bisa lebih maksimal dan kerugian mungkin bisa ditekan,” tegas Hendra dengan nada prihatin.
Ia pun menambahkan bahwa kejadian serupa sebenarnya sudah sering diantisipasi. Pihaknya sudah berulang kali mengimbau masyarakat agar tidak menghalangi proses pemadaman saat kebakaran terjadi. Namun, ironisnya, kondisi kacau seperti ini masih saja terus berulang setiap kali musibah datang. “Kami terus mengingatkan, tapi situasi lapangan kadang di luar kendali. Kami harap ini jadi pelajaran penting bagi kita semua,” pungkasnya.
Hingga berita ini diturunkan, penyebab pasti kebakaran masih menjadi misteri yang menyisakan tanda tanya besar. Hendra mengakui bahwa informasi yang beredar di masyarakat masih simpang siur dan belum ada titik terang. “Ada yang bilang api berasal dari kompor yang lupa dimatikan, ada juga yang menduga kuat karena korsleting listrik. Tapi kita tidak bisa asal tebak. Kami serahkan sepenuhnya pada pihak berwenang untuk menyelidiki. Biar mereka yang memastikan sumber apinya,” ujarnya.
Di tengah kepedihan dan kerugian materi yang sangat besar, setidaknya ada satu kabar yang sedikit meringankan. Tidak ada korban jiwa dalam insiden kebakaran hebat ini. Meski demikian, dampak ekonominya sungguh luar biasa. Puluhan bangunan yang terdampak merupakan sumber kehidupan bagi banyak keluarga. Kini, para pedagang hanya bisa terduduk lemas menyaksikan sisa-sisa dagangan mereka yang hangus terbakar. Kerugian ditaksir mencapai angka yang fantastis, mengingat banyaknya bangunan yang ludes beserta seluruh isinya.
Peristiwa ini menjadi pengingat keras bagi kita semua. Bencana ini bukan sekadar kebakaran biasa; ini adalah tamparan bagi kesadaran kolektif kita. Antara sulitnya akses pemadam, konstruksi pasar yang padat, hingga ulah warga yang justru menghambat proses penyelamatan, semuanya berputar menjadi satu lingkaran masalah yang harus segera dicari solusinya. Pasar Segiri yang selama ini menjadi denyut nadi perekonomian rakyat Samarinda, untuk sementara waktu harus tutup dan menyisakan duka.
