ZUG, Desapenari.id – Dalam sebuah langkah bersejarah, Pengadilan di Swiss bakal membuka sidang penting pada Rabu (3/9/2025). Parahnya, Pulau Pari yang hanya memiliki luas sekitar 42 hektar dilaporkan telah kehilangan hampir 11 persen wilayahnya. Penyebab utamanya tidak lain adalah kenaikan permukaan laut yang begitu drastis. Warga setempat pun mengeluhkan bahwa banjir rob kini semakin sering melanda dan intensitasnya semakin parah. Banjir ini bukan hanya merusak rumah-rumah penduduk, tetapi juga secara langsung menggerus mata pencaharian mereka sebagai nelayan dan pelaku usaha wisata.

Mereka berencana menggunakan dana tersebut untuk membiayai langkah-langkah adaptasi yang mendesak, seperti penanaman mangrove kembali dan pembangunan pemecah gelombang yang kokoh di Pulau Pari. Organisasi Swiss Church Aid (HEKS), yang mendampingi perjuangan hukum ini, lantas menekankan bahwa nilai kompensasi itu sesungguhnya hanya merepresentasikan 0,42 persen dari total biaya kerusakan aktual.
Angka 0,42 persen itu sendiri bukanlah angka asal-asalan. Angka tersebut dirujuk dari perhitungan ilmiah yang menyatakan bahwa Holcim bertanggung jawab atas 0,42 persen dari total emisi industri global sejak tahun 1750. Tidak berhenti di situ, para penggugat juga mendesak Holcim agar segera menurunkan emisi gas rumah kacanya secara agresif, yaitu sebesar 43 persen pada 2030 dan 69 persen pada 2040. “Para penggugat berharap pengadilan menyatakan diri berwenang dan menegaskan bahwa Holcim turut bertanggung jawab atas krisis iklim yang menghancurkan pulau mereka,” tegas Yvan Maillard-Ardenti, Kepala Program Keadilan Iklim HEKS, kepada AFP.
Holcim Beralih ke Pemerintah, Aktivis Soroti Kontribusi Emisi
Di sisi lain, Holcim pun memberikan tanggapan resmi terhadap gugatan tersebut. Perusahaan menyatakan bahwa mereka tetap berkomitmen penuh terhadap aksi iklim.
