Palembang, Desapenari.id – Bayangkan, perjalanan darat dari Palembang menuju Betung yang dulu selalu terasa menguras energi karena memakan waktu tiga hingga empat jam, kini diprediksi hanya akan memakan waktu sekitar satu jam saja. Wah, kabar gembira ini benar-benar menjadi angin segar bagi para pemudik yang akan melakukan perjalanan mudik dan balik pada Lebaran 2026 mendatang. Pasalnya, PT Hutama Karya (Persero) secara resmi mengumumkan bahwa mereka akan mengoperasikan Jalan Tol Palembang–Betung secara fungsional untuk mendukung kelancaran arus mudik dan balik.
Saat kita berbicara tentang efisiensi waktu dan kenyamanan berkendara, tol ini seolah menjadi jawaban atas segala keluhan para pengguna jalan selama ini. Executive Vice President (EVP) Sekretaris Perusahaan Hutama Karya, Mardiansyah, menjelaskan dengan gamblang bahwa ruas tol yang akan difungsionalkan memiliki panjang total kurang lebih 53,2 kilometer. Lebih spesifiknya, pembukaan akan dimulai dari STA 42+500 hingga mencapai STA 95+700, dan ini berlaku untuk Jalur A maupun Jalur B. Artinya, masyarakat sudah bisa menikmati perjalanan yang lebih cepat dan lancar pada momen Lebaran nanti.
Menariknya, progres konstruksi dari tol Palembang–Betung sendiri saat ini telah mencapai angka 79,40 persen. Meskipun belum sepenuhnya rampung, Hutama Karya berkomitmen untuk memberikan pelayanan terbaik selama masa fungsional ini. Mardiansyah menegaskan bahwa pengoperasian fungsional ini memang sengaja dirancang untuk membantu mengurai kepadatan lalu lintas yang biasanya terjadi. Di samping itu, mereka juga berfokus pada peningkatan kelancaran mobilitas masyarakat ketika puncak perjalanan Lebaran tiba, seperti yang ia sampaikan dalam keterangan tertulisnya pada Sabtu, 28 Februari 2026.
Beralih ke fasilitas yang disiapkan, Hutama Karya benar-benar tidak main-main dalam mendukung kesiapan operasional arus mudik. Mereka telah menyiapkan Barrier Gate Temporary yang akan diletakkan di STA 41+700. Fungsi gerbang sementara ini adalah sebagai lokasi tapping bagi pengguna jalan yang sebelumnya telah melintasi Jalan Tol Kayuagung–Palembang. Dengan demikian, pengendara tidak akan mengalami kebingungan saat berpindah dari satu ruas tol ke ruas tol lainnya.
Tidak hanya itu, bagi para pengendara yang mungkin merasa lelah setelah menempuh perjalanan jauh, Hutama Karya juga telah menyiapkan Tempat Istirahat dan Pelayanan (TIP) yang berada di STA 71+200. TIP ini tersedia baik di Jalur A maupun Jalur B, dan mereka melengkapinya dengan berbagai fasilitas pendukung yang memadai. Pengunjung dapat menikmati ketersediaan listrik dan air bersih, sehingga tempat ini menjadi oase yang sempurna untuk sekadar melepas lelah sebelum melanjutkan perjalanan.
Kemudian, berbicara soal keselamatan, Hutama Karya menegaskan bahwa mereka telah memastikan ketersediaan berbagai perangkat keselamatan jalan. Mereka memasang rambu lalu lintas yang jelas, marka sementara yang mudah terlihat, serta penerangan jalan yang memadai di sepanjang ruas tol. Selain itu, mereka juga menambahkan barrier pengaman sesuai dengan ketentuan yang berlaku. Petugas operasional dan kendaraan pendukung pun mereka siagakan secara penuh, sehingga jika terjadi kondisi darurat atau potensi gangguan teknis, penanganannya bisa dilakukan dengan cepat dan tepat.
Dari penjelasan Mardiansyah, kita jadi tahu bahwa ruas tol Palembang–Betung ini sebenarnya terdiri dari Seksi 1 Palembang–Rengas dan Seksi 2 Rengas–Pangkalan Balai. Kedua seksi ini merupakan bagian tak terpisahkan dari jaringan megaproyek Jalan Tol Trans Sumatera dengan total panjang mencapai 54,5 kilometer. Proyek ini tidak hanya sekadar membangun jalan raya, tetapi juga menghadirkan infrastruktur kebanggaan, yaitu Jembatan Musi V yang membentang sepanjang 1.684 meter sebagai salah satu struktur utamanya.
Proyek ini juga dilengkapi dengan dua gerbang tol, yaitu Gerbang Tol Rengas dan Gerbang Tol Pangkalan Balai. Keberadaan gerbang-gerbang ini diharapkan dapat mengatur keluar-masuk kendaraan dengan lebih tertib dan efisien. Masyarakat yang tinggal di sekitar area tersebut tentu akan merasakan dampak positif dari kemudahan akses ini. Mereka tidak perlu lagi melewati jalur-jalur padat yang kerap memakan waktu.
Dengan segala persiapan yang dilakukan, masyarakat diimbau untuk memanfaatkan momen mudik Lebaran ini dengan bijak. Pastikan kendaraan dalam kondisi prima sebelum memasuki tol fungsional. Bawalah bekal yang cukup dan patuhi semua rambu lalu lintas yang telah dipasang. Petugas akan selalu berjaga di titik-titik rawan untuk memastikan keamanan dan kenyamanan bersama.
Pada akhirnya, kehadiran Tol Palembang–Betung yang difungsikan saat Lebaran ini menjadi bukti nyata bahwa pembangunan infrastruktur di Indonesia terus bergerak maju. Masyarakat Sumatera Selatan, khususnya, patut berbangga karena konektivitas antarwilayah semakin membaik. Waktu tempuh yang terpangkas drastis ini bukan hanya soal efisiensi, tetapi juga tentang bagaimana kita dapat menghabiskan lebih banyak waktu berkualitas bersama keluarga di kampung halaman.
