DEN HAAG, Desapenari.id – Menteri Luar Negeri Belanda, Caspar Veldkamp, memutuskan untuk meletakkan jabatannya pada Jumat (22/8/2025). Langkah ini ia ambil setelah upayanya untuk menjatuhkan sanksi terhadap Israel mentok dan tidak membuahkan hasil.
Akibatnya, situasi politik Belanda pun menjadi semakin ruwet dan tidak menentu, terlebih lagi karena negara ini sedang mempersiapkan diri untuk menghadapi pemilihan umum yang baru pada tanggal 29 Oktober 2025.

Sebelumnya, Veldkamp vokal mengkritik taktik Israel dalam perang Gaza. Bahkan, bulan lalu pemerintah Belanda secara resmi melarang dua menteri sayap kanan Israel, Itamar Ben-Gvir dan Bezalel Smotrich, masuk ke wilayahnya dan menyatakan mereka sebagai persona non grata.
Dalam suratnya kepada parlemen, Veldkamp menegaskan bahwa kedua menteri Israel itu berulang kali menghasut kekerasan pemukim terhadap warga Palestina. Selain itu, ia juga menyoroti bahwa mereka mendorong perluasan permukiman ilegal dan bahkan terang-terangan menyerukan pembersihan etnis di Gaza. Tak hanya itu, Belanda juga termasuk dalam 21 negara yang menandatangani deklarasi bersama untuk mengecam proyek permukiman Israel di Tepi Barat. Mereka menilai proyek tersebut tidak dapat diterima dan jelas melanggar hukum internasional.

Sementara itu, Perdana Menteri Belanda Dick Schoof menyampaikan rasa penyesalannya atas pengunduran diri Veldkamp dan keluarnya partai Kontrak Sosial Baru dari koalisi. Perlu diketahui, partai tersebut merupakan partai terbesar keempat yang duduk di parlemen.
Di hadapan para anggota parlemen, Schoof mengakui bahwa situasi yang terjadi di Gaza saat ini dan terlihat sangat dramatis. “Semua orang sebenarnya menyadari hal itu,” tuturnya. Krisis politik ini datang di tengah-tengah masa kampanye pemilu, di mana pemerintah sudah rapuh harus kembali dinamika baru tidak terduga.
