Desapenari.id – Erick Thohir, Ketua Umum PSSI, menyatakan dengan tegas: Timnas Indonesia wajib menang saat berhadapan dengan China dalam laga krusial Grup C kualifikasi Piala Dunia 2026! Pertandingan yang bakal digelar di Stadion GBK, Kamis (5/6/2025), ini benar-benar penentu nasib skuad Garuda.
“Fokus kita sekarang cuma satu: China dulu!” tegas Erick usai menghadiri pengundian Piala AFF U23 di Jimbaran, Bali, Jumat (30/5/2025). Ia menegaskan, kalau sampai gagal raih tiga poin di kandang sendiri, peluang Timnas melaju ke babak playoff atau ronde keempat kualifikasi bakal menipis drastis.
“Minimal kita harus finish di posisi ketiga atau keempat biar bisa lanjut ke playoff,” tambahnya. Erick juga menekankan bahwa ia tak mau tim keburu pusing memikirkan dua laga sekaligus (China dan Jepang). Ia mau pemain fokus total dulu pada laga kandang melawan tim Negeri Tirai Bambu itu.
Meski China membawa tiga pemain naturalisasi, Erick sama sekali tak gentar. Menurut bos PSSI ini, punya pemain naturalisasi di timnas itu hal biasa, persis seperti yang Indonesia lakukan. Tapi yang bikin dia bangga, pemain naturalisasi Timnas Garuda masih punya darah Indonesia, beda dengan negara lain yang asal comot pemain tanpa ada ikatan darah sama sekali.
“Harusnya mereka yang malu, main naturalisasi pemain yang enggak ada hubungan darahnya!” sindirnya pedas.
Sementara itu, Timnas Indonesia sekarang sedang getol menjalani TC di Bali United Training Center, Pantai Purnama, Gianyar. Pemusatan latihan yang mulai Senin (26/5) ini akan berakhir Sabtu (31/5), dengan pelatih kepala Patrick Kluivert langsung memimpin persiapan taktik untuk menghadapi China.
Laga di GBK nanti benar-benar jadi pertaruhan buat Timnas. Thom Haye dkk pasti enggak mau mengulangi kekalahan 1-2 dari China di Stadion Qingdao pada 15 Oktober 2024 lalu.
Di klasemen sementara, Indonesia sekarang menempati posisi keempat Grup C dengan 9 poin, sementara China terpuruk di dasar klasemen setelah kalah dari Australia dan Arab Saudi dalam dua laga terakhir.
Erick Thohir yakin banget, dengan dukungan suporter dan persiapan matang, Timnas bisa meraih hasil positif. Ia pun mengajak seluruh rakyat Indonesia untuk memberikan dukungan penuh buat tim kebanggaan ini.
“Kami yakin pemain bakal tunjukkan semangat juang tinggi. Ini laga penting, dan kami percaya mereka bisa bawa kebanggaan untuk bangsa,” tegasnya penuh keyakinan.
