BENGKULU, desapenari.id – Bengkulu Luncurkan Jagung Bhayangkara Merah Putih. Provinsi Bengkulu mencatat sejarah sebagai pelopor pembenihan jagung unggul “Jagung Bhayangkara Merah Putih” yang mampu menghasilkan 10 ton per hektare. Gubernur Helmi Hasan bersama Kapolda Bengkulu Irjen Pol Mardiyono meresmikan program strategis ini di Desa Kelobak, Kepahiang, Selasa (6/5/2025).

Tak hanya itu, varietas baru ini langsung menunjukkan keunggulannya dengan produktivitas mencapai 10 ton per hektare, mengalahkan varietas biasa yang hanya menghasilkan 5 ton.
Di sisi lain, Gubernur Helmi Hasan menekankan pentingnya program ini untuk ketahanan pangan nasional. Misalnya, benih unggul ini akan didistribusikan secara luas tidak hanya untuk petani Bengkulu tetapi juga ke berbagai daerah di Indonesia. Akibatnya, program ini diharapkan dapat mendorong swasembada pangan sekaligus meningkatkan pendapatan petani secara signifikan.
Sementara itu, Kapolda Bengkulu Irjen Pol Mardiyono menjelaskan bahwa inisiatif ini merupakan bentuk nyata kontribusi Polri dalam pembangunan pertanian. Dengan demikian, Polda Bengkulu tidak hanya fokus pada penegakan hukum tetapi juga turut serta membangun ketahanan pangan. Oleh karena itu, program ini sejalan dengan Asta Cita Presiden dalam mewujudkan kedaulatan pangan nasional.
Pada dasarnya, kehadiran Jagung Bhayangkara Merah Putih menjadi bukti nyata sinergi antara pemerintah dan kepolisian. Terutama dalam menciptakan inovasi pertanian yang berdampak langsung pada kesejahteraan petani. Tak pelak, program ini mendapat apresiasi positif dari berbagai kalangan, termasuk pemerintah pusat yang siap mendukung proses hilirisasi.
Lebih lanjut, program ini telah menunjukkan hasil nyata dengan penanaman perdana seluas 32,3 hektar. Sebagai contoh, lahan percontohan di Desa Kelobak diperkirakan mampu menghasilkan lebih dari 93 ton jagung. Bukan hanya itu, Pemprov Bengkulu juga menargetkan perluasan program hingga 100 hektar pada tahun 2026 mendatang.
